Custom framing by a professional craftsman specialised in pastel framing. The frame does not touch the pastel directly, which cannot stand direct contact; a gap is left between the work and the plexiglas.
I chose plexiglas because it is a much lighter and more portable material than glass; the transparency is the same.
Pastels do not like direct sunlight.

Description
It came to me as obvious. I had to paint him.
I thank him from the bottom of my heart for this pose which allowed me to create this pastel with an unexpected attitude.
I have a very special bond with these animals that are not very well liked in the cities, and I understand why. However I love them very much, even though in late spring they can be very noisy and disturb our sleep.
About ten years ago a baby gull fell out of its nest and fell in the small garden around the house where I live in Nice. Since then I have “adopted” him. His name is Jonathan, of course; how can I forget the beautiful book by Richard Bach?
Maybe this book also made me love gulls even more. How can we not admire them when they fly high with their ease and elegance? How can we not feel the thrill of freedom when we watch them?
It has been almost 10 years and Jonathan still comes to see me, and I admit, I hide our relationship from my neighbours, to whom I could not tell… My paintings allow me however to do so. And I enjoy it.
